Update April 5th 2008:
The rumors for the introduction of the SYM wowow are thickening. New details reveal, that the new
scooter will in fact be for sale equipped with a semi automatic 110cc 3-speed engine. The color likely
color schemes will be two tone black-white, pink-white and baby blue-white. This scooter should help
examplify SYM's long tradition in scooter manufacturing from Taiwan. We can't wait to offer this new scooter for sale
here in Portland.
Update March 13th 2008:
The new and very exciting SYM brochure which features all of SYM's new scooter models
including the new retro styled SYM Vogue 125 and the brand new SYM City Comm 300, is available as a PDF document for download here:
(NOTE: The file is 1.8Mb of size, so it might take a few moments to downlaod.)

Update Nov. 18th 2007:
It seems, according to CNN and other new sources, that we will be seeing new record high gasoline prices
in the next few weeks. Since I have had this scooter shop, I have been wondering, why when there is talk
about energy efficiency, saving gas, saving the environment and beeing "green", there never seems to be
a real debate that would include new motor scooters. These scooters are just as viable of an option for metro commuting
(if not better) as the toyota prius, the smart car and other hybrid or biodiesel cars. When I read reports
on more energy efficient transportation, new scooters are never part of that debate, as if it's more about
car sales than the environment. As much as I would love to have more new scooter sales her in Portland,
I do think it would be a good idea to include motor scooters in the current debate about our environment.
Update Oct. 28th 2007:
We have recently had a lot of interest regarding rumors that SYM will be bringing in a few new
more "retro" styled models to america for the 2008 season. While we have no pictures yet of the new sym
retro vespa look alike, we would like to share a nice image of the sym wowow which is a scooter that
Honda used to sell as the cub or the passport.
the scooter would come with a 125cc four stroke engine and right now it looks like three color
schemes are available: baby blue/white, pink/white and black/white. Prices aren't set but there
seems to be some speculations indicating, that such a scooter could possibly be priced somewhere
between $2000 and $2800 retail. To make certain, that this pretty new wowow scooter will actually be available here in the USA
and that we can have 2008 portland new scooter sales which would include the sym wowow, we encourage
potential buyers of this scooter to contact SYM USA using this link and let them know that you would like
to see the "cub" here:

Here at scooterstation we can't wait to get our hands on both of these projected retro scooters. We
feel that the only thing SYM is missing in their lineup are a couple of larger engine displacement
retro scooters with a good individual appeal. Both proposed models would cover this gap.
Update Mar. 17th 2007:
How to get a scooter almost for free while saving the environment...
If you are concerned about the environment and peak oil, if an inconvenient truth made
you think about alternative transportation and you are wondering if there is more to
life than a hybrid car when it comes to having a resourceful commute, or if you simply
want to save money while commuting or the bus tickets are getting too expensive, you
have come to the right place. Modern motor scooters are using innovative technologies
and get an un believable gasoline mileage whilst not congesting inner cities with
traffic. Scooterstation offers scooters from established scooter companies which are
concerned about the environment. DAELIM and SYM are amongst the largest manufacturers
of motor scooters in the world today. Their scooters see fuel economy of up to
128 miles per gallon !
Here is a little example of what you could be saving annually:
- If you are commuting with public transportation in Portland, you are spending about $700-$800
per year on bus tickets.
- If you are driving an average car with an average commute of 20 miles per
day (this is a conservative estimate, because Americans commute an average of 30 miles
per day in their cars !), you are spending $1095.00 in gasoline alone at a price of
$3.00 per gallon. In addition to that your average annual insurance cost of about
$600.00 per car will leave you with total running cost (without maintenance costs,
oil changes etc !) of $1695.00
- In comparison, a SYM HD200 (Price: $3590.00 with 2 year warranty) will cost you about
$50.00 in annual insurance and only $292.00 in gasoline expenses (same 20 mile commute as
with a car), reaching a fuel economy of 75 per gallon.
- Or (example no.2) a Daelim Cordi 49cc (Price $1690.00 with 2 year warranty) will
cost you about $50.00 annual insurance and only $85.55 in gasoline expenses (10 mile
commute), because it reaches 128 miles per gallon.
So whether you are taking the bus or whether are using your car for daily commutes,
you could be saving up to $1560.00 annually. This means the savings of riding a scooter
instead of a car for a year almost pay for the scooter. In effect you will actually
have more money to spend on other things in the following years. Isn't that great ?
Update Mar. 17th 2007:
At Scooterstation we have been very busy remodeling our showroom for the past few weeks.
Since we felt that more display area was needed, we expanded our showroom to 1500sqft.
We have added beautiful hardwood parquet floors to make your visit even more enjoyable.
On the added shelf space you can find lots of free literature and even free
scooter magazines with the latest news of the scooter world. We also now have a variety
of books with information on new and old scooters for you to look into, if you like.
Update Jan. 21st 2007:
Many people are asking, where Daelim and SYM are from, how long they have been in business for etc.
We have decided to compile a couple of downloadable PDF documents, that provide a brief history
of each company, production numbers etc. One thing you should know right away: Neither DAELIM nor
SYM are chinese comapnies. DAELIM is from South Korea and SYM is from Taiwan, just like kymco.
Click on the images to open the pdf with the company info sheets. Enjoy.
